Welcome to my small, personal webpage where I will mostly write about geeky, technical things that are somewhat related to my research.

Background

I am a PostDoc with Philippe Bonnet at IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) in the Computer Science Department and a member of the Pervasive Interaction Technology Lab (PITLab). Before starting my PostDoc, I received a Ph.D. and a M.Sc. at ITU and a B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering at University of Aalen (HTW Aalen). During 2014 I spent 6 months as a visiting researcher at UC Berkeley in David Culler’s Software Defined Buildings (SDB) group.

Research

I do systems research in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT). During my Ph.D., I worked extensively within non-residential buildings. Non-residential buildings are one of the main consumers of energy. How can we transform existing Building Management Systems (BMS) to a building operating system, where applications can be deployed by users and the building manager. How can we achieve application portability across buildings? Recently, I started working on how to extend an existing BMS by using off-the-shelf smart appliances that originally are targeting private homes.

You can find a list of my publications here.
